COMMUNITY ROAD SAFETY: Live, drive, ride like a local

The Bike Team conducted this innovative, interdisciplinary project in collaboration with the Alpine Shire Council, Amy Gillett Foundation and DGB Creative. Focussed on improving road safety in the Alpine region of Victoria, Australia, the project identified the importance of attitudes, particularly recognising cyclists as people.

Our research findings informed a creative campaign including developing a visual identity, cinematic short film and communications material for distribution in the community. After seeing the campaign, 31% of people reported they were more likely to wave to other people on the road (evaluation survey).

The project was funded by a TAC Community Road Safety Grant, with contributions from the Alpine Shire and Amy Gillett Foundation.
